[Elecraft] K3 needing power on -off cycling to recover settings.

May be operator error .

I have my SSB+CW  set up to be able to use key to generate  a cw signal  to 
tweak amp into dummy load after large in band freq excursions , very handy.

 But VERY often that ability is gone and just recycling power resets the 
function.

I have NOT tapped the "1" key- at least not on the band it is not working , 
don't recall tapping the "1" key on any band last night chasing the VK9MT 
from12 to 17 meters .

Is this function saved/ recalled by band ?

While on the subject  is it possible to have SSB+CW on VFOB when split ?
