[Elecraft] K2 Headphone jack switch failure?

I don't know about the K1 but if you are going to replace the jack in
your K2 you might consider wiring a separate headphone/speaker switch
when you do so. 

That's what I did with my K2. Now I can leave the headphones plugged
in all the time and just switch the speaker on and off as I like. That
is actually a lot more convenient than plugging and unplugging the
headphones, which is a clumsy operation with these lightweight rigs.
And of course it prevents further wear and tear on the delicate K2
jack.

I mounted the switch on the back leftside panel in one of the unused
transverter holes.  If you want the details let me know and I'll try
to find them. Basically you need to wire the switch between one of the
jack terminals and its circuit board pad.
