Be sure to report this to  the police.  Since it was inside your home 
(actually, your garage) at the time of the loss, you can probably get 
reimbursed by your homeowner's insurance, but you have to report the 
loss to the police before most insurers will pay. Depending on your 
policy, there may not be much deductible, if any.

Check the local pawn shops, Craig's list, eBay, etc.  - you may find it.

Was anything else missing?   If not, then that is an indication that 
someone was looking for that specific item.  Ask other hams that you 
trust to keep their eyes open.

Someone stole a TS-120 from my Chevy Blazer several years ago.  I got it 
back a couple of weeks later, with blown finals.  I was able to 
determine who was responsible, and gave him the choice of paying for 
factory repairs or going to jail.   He was a CB "good buddy" type teenager.
