Hard to say. I would expect any hail or flying debris to be ample to killing
the anemometer, but you'd be surprised how many small hail storms it did come
through. As for wind, mine has been to 81MPH with no centrifugal destruction.

This one is a LaCrosse, I think WS 2800 series, was something like $79 at Cosco
several years ago. Everything is plastic, and the anemometer is quite light. Of
course, that gives good inertial response to wind gusts. I really want a
commercial unit with no moving parts like our highway department has installed
locally. I think it will take much more abuse, but I'm sure it is much more
expensive too, and probably not available in wireless version.
Oh, and parts are NOT available for repair on my cheapie. That's something to
keep in mind.
A little OT for the group, but I know many here are interested, and I'm
certainly one who would like a source of better wireless units.
