[Elecraft] KX3 birdies and ther LED brightness command

Chris,

My guess is that you are hearing a low level digital noise (rather than 
birdies) coming from the MCU as it illuminates the LEDs.  The fact that 
they disappear when you turn the LED brightness down leads me to that 
conclusion.
