Hello Jim,

K144RFLK is adequate for SSB/CW unless you go for digital which you will also need external 10Mhz reference.  Of course, I assume you have already installed the KTCXO3

According to the operation manual, you can add more transverters as long as you have the KXV3A installed.

I'm entertaining the idea of adding the K144XV 2m module to my K3.

1)  How necessary is the K144RFLK REFLOCK for routine SSB/CW operation, 
with maybe some FM thrown in?
       No plans for digital at this time.

2)  Is there still room to add transverters to my transverter interface 
module, which I have and know that I'll need for the 2m module?
       I have the XV222 kit, and would eventually like to add 
transverters for 902 MHz and 1296 MHz.
