I have found that a serrated bread knife works well, when used with a sawing motion, to cut through the little joiner pieces between the pick-n-pluck foam cubes. Another trick for cutting open cell foam, especially when trying to cut a non-linear profile, is to wet it, freeze it and cut it while frozen with a knife blade, or a finer toothed straight set blade, in a jig saw.
