[Elecraft] Is there a reason the receive is so Skinny

My take on the original post is that it related to 
questioning whether a rig was working as it 
should, not a philosophical discussion of whether 
ESSB is good or not, though I agree that its use 
is pointless and bandwidth-wasting.
