But what about EME.
------------------
I run my K3 in DATA-A which sets the radio to USB standard bandwidth
(I have the 2.8-KHz 8-pole filter). I leave the bandwidth at
2.8-KHz, though I could widen it to 4-KHz.
JT65 EME operation is centered on 1-KHz frequency steps (you could
call them channels) from 144.100 to 144.170 MHz, so there is really
no need to use 4-KHz unless you want to watch an adjacent
frequency. AFAIK no one corrects for Doppler when running 2m-eme
with JT-65, since you can see the signals in the waterfall. If you
cannot see them, they are probably too weak to work.
One does not use JT65-HF on eme rather you use JT65B for 2m-eme. I
think JT65A is used on 6m-eme and JT-65C on 1296.
I have no nearby eme stations that would require a narrowed roofing
filter. JT65 imposes a digital filter to maximize sensitivity. If
you have many eme stations close in frequency the "Freeze" mode
allows you to narrow the decoder window in bw. IN extreme pileups I
often go to 20-Hz to decode the desired signal and exclude others. I
have experienced up to seven stations calling on my frequency at one
time. I do not use the roofing filters for this, use the sw filter
in JT65 (the tol window).
In the past year I have switched to using MAP65 on 2m-eme, which
permits watching up to 90-KHz of the band and decodes any JT65 signal
running eme within that wide window. MAP65 has a secondary window
that looks just like what you see on JT65. When you click the
display of a signal the small window centers on that frequency and
the decoder uses that bandwidth to select stations to work.

I've not tried JT9, yet.
