[Elecraft] Would like to listen to a K3 before I Purchase one.

I was talking to an Elecraft Technical Support person last week about my
plan to purchase my 2nd K3. I assembled one back in 2009, used it for about
three weeks and sold it. Now. after trying numerous other bands and models,
I am back looking at the K3 again. He asked why I didn't keep the 1st one
and I explained that I was unable to adjust an SSB transmission to the point
where the person didn't sound narrow and nasal. I, of course, called
Elecraft to see if I was adjusting anything incorrectly and there seemed to
be no solution at the time so I reluctantly sold it. 

 

The Support person's comment was: "Well, I would hate to have you purchase
another K3 and find that it sounds the same to you. Is there anyone near
your QTH with a K3 you could visit and listen to their rig before you make
the purchase?" and I said no. He looked up my zip code to see if they had
any record of a nearby K3, but drew a blank. It is 19608. 

 

By chance is there anyone near Reading, PA or within an hour's drive of my
QTH (Sinking Spring, PA) that would be willing to demonstrate their K3?
Might be there have been a number of upgrades in the circuits since 2009
that whatever my ears were hearing back then will be gone.  73, Tom N3XQ
