[Elecraft] Changing CW pitch on K2

Eddy,

The answer is "maybe". If you are changing only by a small amount, then
you will not have to realign the filters.
If you change the pitch by a goodly amount, then the answer is yes.

Look at it this way - if you have the most narrow filter set for a
center frequency of 600 Hz and the filter width is 200 Hz, that filter
will reproduce a frequency of 500 Hz to 700 Hz and still be within the
bandpass (although the extreme frequencies will be on the edge of the
filter bandpass). If your change is greater than that range, you will
want to re-align the filters.

I would suggest that if you are experimenting with your preferred CW
pitch, you should not change the filter alignment, but after you settle
on a given pitch, then align the filters to center at that pitch.

If you have the KAF2 or KDSP2 installed, I would strongly recommend that
you adjust the center frequencies for those options to your new chosen
CW pitch.

For information about setting the filters to your chosen pitch, refer to
Part 3 of the K2 Dial Calibration article on my website www.w3fpr.com.
