Just assembled the KPA500. I have a few questions on cabling. I will be
cabling together the KPA500/K3/P3.
I got the KPAK3AUX cable set
9-pin Serial cable.
Does the serial cable from the PC go first to the P3 or KPA500?
15-pin cable.
I plan on putting the included gender changer (key line interupter) on the
K3. Then the Y-cable. From there it will go to the KPA500 and the existing
15-pin acc cable.
Any issues with putting the gender changer right on the K3? This seems to be
the only way you can tighten the screws on all the cables.
K3 Key Out
Presently I have a cable running from the K3 Key Out to the N8LP SteppIR
Tuning Relay, then on to the Acom 2000A.
I have added a pair of 12V A/B switches. One in the shack to select the
output from the K3 to either the Acom or KPA500 inputs. In the basement
where I have the Acom I have the second A/B switch to select the output of
either the Acom or KPA500. This way in the shack I have a toggle switch to
select either amp.
On the output of the N8LP SteppIR Tuning Relay I plan on using a "T" for
tying together the key line for the KPA500 and Acom. My question - Do I need
series isolation diodes to select which amp for keying? Any issues?
Tnx for any feedback. If I missed any of this in the manuals, I apologize up
front.
