Hello Knut,
It should be no problem to use the PR6 with the sub RX auxiliary antenna input.
It does mean that the receiver will be using a different antenna than your transmit antenna.
Connect the 6 m receive antenna to the Preamp In BNC.
Connect the Preamp Out BNC to the Sub RX AUX BNC.
Power up the PR6 using the DIGOUT1 when on 6m.
If you want to use the Sub RX AUX input on other bands, connect a jumper between the Bypass IN and OUT BNC on the PR6 and don't power the PR6.

Subject: [Elecraft] K3 and PR6 configuration help needed

Last week I build a new K3. In adddition I have a PR6 6M receive preamplifier.
Unfortuntely I don´t know how to use the PR6 together with the K3 (no ATU, but KRX3 subreceiver installed)).
The PR6 manual (Revision B, May 19, 2011) seems to be not correct.
On page 2 in "Installation and Operation" it says:
.... so the PR6 may be attached to the K3 using the supplied male-male BNC connectors as shown in Figure2 "......
Figure 2 does not show a K3 as I have but one with K3s KXV3 (6M) module installed.
On page 3 (top) "Other 6-Meter Receivers and Transceivers" it says:
...limit the RF power passing through the PR6 to 15 watt in bypass....
I don´t want to be restricted to 15 watts and don´t want to buy a KXV3.
How can I connect a PR6 with my K3, maybe using the KRX3 auxillary antenna input?
Any help would be much appreciated.
73s,
Knut DK5AD
