Good Evening,
The sun felt very nice after all the snow last week. Today I took a
hike and listened to all the new birds. I got squawked at by a Pileated
Woodpecker and stared at by two hummingbirds; they may be trying to tell
me something. The birds who stay around all winter are looking at the
new birds oddly. As they call their morning territory routines the
"snowbirds" are pushing into the "local's" areas. As I did a casual
cedar inventory I found a number of trilliums and yellow violets. Soon
there will be many more flowers but it is very early.

Propagation was not so good this week. Twenty and thirty meters
were very different. Where twenty was weak and noise-free, thirty was
noisy and stronger. Forty meters worked well at times but that is more
local. I expect the spring thunderstorms will fill both bands with static.

Please join us tomorrow afternoon and evening.
