[Elecraft] Don Wilhelm A Special Thank You!

Well now is the time for me also add some praise. Without Don a partial
built K2 I bought with a problem very early on (p.31) it was finished then
sent to Don. He found the problem the previous owner had caused ordered
parts one of them an IC repaired it all for little more than the shipping
and parts.

Thanks Don

Put me on the list of devotees. Thanks Don for your unfailing assistance.
You are such a great example of the true spirit of amateur radio!

to guess that there is no one, maybe not even the K2 designers, who know the
K2 as well as Don does. When my KPA100 would not put out power anymore, Don
diagnosed it to the capacitor which needs replacing, and I was able to
restore the K2 to full power again with Don's help. Don's comments are
always well thought through. Thanks Don for all the insight not just on
Elecraft rigs but on General Ham subjects as well.

Looking for Don's answers in this list is, to me, the equivalent of looking
something up in a reference book. Don is such a great asset to us all.

but have never come across anyone who uses an RE27 with theirs which I
assume would be easier, due to the higher output of the RE27. I connected
mine directly to my K2 and it sounds fine. Predictably, it has a bit more at
the bottom end than the electret mic in the Heil Traveler headset I was
using. I don't think I would have purchased an RE27 specifically for ham
use, but as I already had it here, it seemed a shame not to press it into
service. So finally, I know another ham who uses an RE27 N/D!
