[Elecraft] [KX3] Has anyone used a "PC" microphone?

The KX3 manual has a very short discussion on the fact that it is possible to
use a "standard PC Microphone" on the KX3. " You can also use some “mini”
mics intended to plug directly into a laptop computer. Refer to the MIC BIAS
and MIC BTN menu entries to set up the KX3 for use with your mic or
headset."  Has anyone gotten this to work?  
I have a neat set of headphones with a boom mic that would be great for
hikes. Would appreciate any advice. Have seen nothing on the reflector. I
have spent some time looking and even did several searches. So if you know
of an existing post even pointing to that would work.
