[Elecraft] TX5K on 40 meters this morning

Ssshh, Jim, we don't want others to know our secrets!
Seriously, I think I am noticing that the pileup jumps on the dx's
listening frequency faster these days. Usually it is faster to work
stations without tuning after each one but the op on 40 this am seemed
to be tuning after almost every qso. When he would work somebody in a
bit of a hole the hole would get filled almost immediately.
So please, people, don't buy a P3 :-)
73 and cheers,
Fred KE7X

Subject: [Elecraft] TX5K on 40 meters this morning

Just after I got up this morning and turned on the K3 and P3 It turned
out I was tuned to TX5K (Clipperton DXpedition) on 7022.9 KHz and boy
what a zoo there was calling them up anywhere from 1 to 6 KHz or so,
sometimes as far as 10-12 KHz up. After I used the P3 to find a hole
near the station(s) he was working, I did manage to work them.

Using the newer P3/SVGA firmware I did a screen capture of the zoo to a
memory stick and uploaded it to Photobucket so I could pass it on to
whoever wanted to see it. Those that don't, just ignore or delete this
message - LOL. I turned off the data decode/encode windows so the
waterfall portion is quite large and the signal traces are really
visible. The faint ones are just barely above the noise and the
brighter ones are between S7 and S9+.
