Some clubs are fortunate to be on them.  And speaking of tall towers, here is a video about climbing them.  This is not for the faint of heart.

I did not see any way to use safety lines.

  Aren't many repeaters collocated with other commercial equipment on those giant (1500') broadcast towers we see all over the plains?  My ham buddies in NE Iowa tell me this is generally the best anyone can do, even if it costs a bit.
