Gerald,
I am using an internal sound card, but I tried an external sound card and
got the same results.
I figured out the problem. It was the Speaker Out (sound card) to KX3
Microphone Input cable, which
appears to have a defect in it. I was able to toggle the defect on and off
by wiggling the cable.
Said cable was taken to the anvil and introduced to my hammer. I replaced
the cable and all is functioning
well.
Thanks to everyone for the support.
I love this radio.
Regards

Are you using an external sound card?

To All,
I cannot get HRD (Ham Radio Deluxe) to send CW thru the KX3, but I can send
CW from my keyboard
using the Elecraft Utility. I have gone thru the HRD settings many times
and I have decided that I need
a second set of eyes to fix the problem.
HRD did briefly work a few times in the CW mode and I have tried
uninstalling and re-installing the program
to try to correct a "fat finger" mistake on my part. This did not work.
Here are my HRD Settings so far:
Program Options / Modes + ID/CW
the PTT box is checked, but the state of this box does not seem to impact
operations.
Program Options/ PTT
the Via DM780 button is highlighted and I have configured the HRD
communications with the KX3.
All of the sliders and control buttons work and the tuned radio frequency
is actively displayed.
The KX3 is in the CW mode and using VOX with full QSK. Changing the QSK-VOX
delay setting does
not impact the problem.
When I type and send a message or use one of the programmed macro messages;
the KX3 will go
into XMIT mode. The message will appear in the large SENT/RECEIVED window
and the "sent" message
will be "X'ed" out in the smaller message window, which indicates it was
successfully sent.
Any Ideas?
Regards
