Actually it is a bit less than 1/4 the volume of the K2.
The Front Panel is about 1/2 inch less in length and about 3/16 inch 
greater in height (width for the KX3).
The K2 is 8.5 inches deep, and the KX3 is a bit less than 1.75 inches deep.
