Steve,
Although the KRX3 provides no external connection to the 1st IF, I
have made a modification to do so (very easily). Details are on my website at:
http://www.kl7uw.com/LINRAD.htm
This webpage deals with making an adaptive receiver using the K3 wit
KRX3. Scroll down the page to the heading:
Connecting K3 Sub-Receiver IF to LP-Pan:
I tap the IF using a .001 uF disc. ceramic cap to connect at w-3 or
pin-1 J78 on the sub receiver pc board using RG-174 coax cable which
is run thru a hole in the KRX3 shield to the aux BNC connector. The
main receiver IF connection on the KXV3A is undisturbed.
This is how I accessed both IF's for adaptive diversity reception for
2m-eme by feeding the IF to two LP-Pan.

Hi,
Just about to throw the switch on a KRX3 order. Going over the
manuals I see no way to attach the IF-out of the
KXV3A to the sub-receiver. It seems natural to use the panadapter on
the sub to watch other bands while working
with the main rx. Am I missing something, or must the IF-out come
from the main rx? I already have the KXV3A
installed, I will be adding the KRX3, along with additional filters
for the main rx.
