[Elecraft] Configuration instructions

I'd recommend saving a configuration first, so you have the ability to
restore a working configuration (even if it's not all your preferences).

Be sure to do all the Option Enables, filter setup, and calibration steps in
the Owner's manual.

EEINIT clears only part of the K3's EEPROM storage. CW memories and Command
Memories and frequency memories are not affected by EEINIT or configuration
restore. You may want to amend these memories using the K3 Utility and the
K3 Frequency Memory Editor.

Subject: [Elecraft] Configuration instructions

Nearly 3 years ago, I bought a previously-loved K3 (s/n 281). When I
received the rig, I never reconfigured it for my personal preferences. Next
week while I'm on vacation, I plan to back up the profile, run an EEINIT,
and then spend a couple of hours reconfiguring everything for my own
preferences. I don't plan on recalibrating anything. Are there any big
gotchas I need to look out for and what are they?

Thank you, 73, and Happy Holidays.
