[Elecraft] K3/0 to K3 issues mostly solved

I am not an authority on Remote Rig, but it would seem to be that JMP1
controls the microphone bias.
The Heil Proset-K2/K3 sold by Elecraft is essentially the same as the
Proset-iC in that it needs bias to operate.
There are so many versions of Heil microphones that one needs to be
specific about which one you have available.
Just saying Heil Proset is not sufficient, be aware of the specific models.

Sorry, but I cannot help with "Quirk 2", it sounds like that has to do
with your particular LAN configuration and the performance of your
specific routers. You might consider replacing your 'downstream router'
with an access point rather than a router.

I figured that out after Brandon got me going. I have another Heil Proset that is not the special Icom version which I was using when Brandon was talking me through the setup. I later inadvertently switched to the iC version and nothing worked again, until I put the jumper back on.

THAT one worries me. 2 days in a row, when I went to bed, everything worked. When I got up the next morning, turning on the K3/0 did not bring up the K3. I couldn't get it working until I rebooted the remote and the local routers.

I am running the K3 from the primary router, and the K3/0 from the downstream router to simulate true remote ops --- it is actually in my daughter's upstairs bedroom. It works fine until it doesn't work, and I have no idea why that happens. Obviously port forwarding is setup right or it wouldn't work at all.
