Hi Glen,
Why do you want the amplifier to stay off while in tune? If you have a tuner
between the amplifier and antenna, what you would want to do makes sense. If
you are using the tuner IN the KX3, it does not make so much sense. There
may not be an option to do what you want in the radio. The way it works
makes sense for those that use the ptt output to switch an external relay
for separate TX and rx antennas.
You may wind up having to switch off the amp during tuning, or reducing
power out of the kx3 during tune.
If you are using the tuner in the KX3, you don't want to do what you want to
do!

Subject: [Elecraft] KX3 tune ptt inhibit
I am using my KX3 with an external amplifier. The ACC2 output of the KX3
keys the amplifier PTT when I push the mike PTT, as it should.
I'd like to inhibit the KX3 ACC2 PTT output when I put the KX3 in tune
mode (I.e., I want the amplifier to stay off while tuning), but can't
figure out how to do this. The manual is not clear (to me) on this point.
Any ideas?
glen, KG0T
