[Elecraft] SSB Filters

Scott et al, I changed the subject as it is being used for many things ot;
ref subject.

Just to elaborate if I set the XTAL config such that 2.1k xtal does not
engage until dsp 2.0k and listen at 2.1k as usual,
Then compare to setting the XTAL config such that 2.1k xtal does not engage
until dsp 2.1k, so at 2.1k it is engaged, and what a difference I hear!

They say it's only for very strong close by signal rejection, but I find I
hear less band noise & barnacles off nearby stations also, and it makes my
listening experience much nicer.

The picture(s) may tell a story but the ears don't lie.

My point is that there is very little reason for multiple SSB filters if
you're using the 8 pole filters. Performance plots of the various filters
seem to agree with me here. Of course, you're free to disagree.
I rarely go narrower than 2 kHz. Hams using studio mics never cease to amuse
me.
