Are you using any kind of "interface"?  Many of them use attenuators to drop
the line level audio to mic level.  For use with the K3 and its line-in
level, that attenuation must be bypassed.  Until you indiacte specifics
about your audio source and settings (there are a LOT of
variations) we can only guess at the cause of your problem.

My best guess is that you are using an interface that is set for Mic input,
but are attempting to use the Line input of the K3. The mic input is a very
low level, and the line input is about 10 times as great.

Most interfaces have a jumper setting that will allow either mic level or
line level input.  For use with the K3 line in, set that jumper for Line Out
level.
