Why not just help the tuner out a little?  Put some inductance in series with the 
center conductor and see if it likes that better.  If that doesn't work put some C
in series and adjust it.  Or some C across the line.  Or some L across the line.
Or some L in series and C across the line.  You get the idea, move the impedance as seen
by the tuner to something it can deal with.
