[Elecraft] KAT500-KPA500 cabling question

The ultimate path from K3 to KPA500 should not pass thru pins 1, 4, 6, 7, or
8 of the cable. The KAT500 passes these pins "thru" from one ACC connector
to the other without otherwise using them internally. As long as one or the
other cable has these pins removed, you should be fine.

Subject: [Elecraft] KAT500-KPA500 cabling question

I realize this has been hashed over pretty well here, but I don't recall a
confirmation that a complete 15pin-15pin cable with all wires connected
straight through and NO pins connected (or shorted) to any other pins is OK
to be used between the KAT500 and the KPA500, IF and only IF the standard
AUX cable is used between the K3 and the KAT500.

Can someone confirm that this is OKAY?

I have found that I have such a cable on hand and if it will work, I won't
have to actually build one or order another cable. My KAT500 is due to ship
in a week or so and I'd like to make sure I have everything on hand to just
hook it up and operate.

Please reply off list to keep the clutter and re-hash of this topic to a
minimum so Eric doesn't have to wade in. He's busy enough as it is trying
to help get backlogged KX3 and KX3 accessory product out the door.

Thanks,

Jim Sheldon - W0EB
