Joe,
You have gotten several replies. I ordered my k3 with the sub-Rx and
have installed just the duplicate of my 2.8-KHz SSB filter. That
permits me to run diversity reception on CW, digital, or
SSB. Bandwidth can be set using the DSP independent of the roofing
filter. I would guess you might consider what modes you will use
regarding filter (s) for the Sub-Rx. I originally had a 1.3-KHz
filter in the sub-Rx to utilize the radio in wideband diversity
reception. Therefore, I sold the extra 1.3 KHz filter as I only need
the main-RX for FM (I do not run diversity Rx on FM).
Primary use of the sub-Rx is running dual-polarity reception on
2m-eme where I tap off the IF into two LP-Pan and running special sw
on my computer to resolve the polarization angle of the received
signal. But with the 2.8-KHz filter I can run diversity Rx on any
band the K3 tunes, should I later desire to.
