[Elecraft] [K3] need help with hiss on ssb receive

I remember thinking the hiss was annoying when I got my radio. I used the eq to knock it down.
I upgraded the DSP board within a few months of getting the K3 and now I listen wide open on the AM filter. 
I had forgotten all about the hiss till you posted this thread.
