[Elecraft] Fully automatic operation of the K3 and KAT500 during TUNE mode?

The KPA500 is actually more automatic than that.
The KPA500 will retune automatically any time the SWR reaches a certain
threshold. The default is 1.8:1 but you can change that with the KAT Utility
program.
Leave the KAT500 in automatic mode for that to work.
So when you change bands or QSY across the band, your KAT500 will retune (or
jump to a pre-memorized setting) as needed without doing anything else.
If you are using a KPA500, you want to run the utility and under
Configuration/Amplifier Key Interrupt Power clock on "Optimize for the
KPA500". That will permit automatic tuning at any power level within the
limits of the K3 or KPA500.

For now you can attach a straight key and hold it down when you want to do a
manual tune and release it when the tuner stops tuning, although I don't see
the problem with two holds of the tune button.
