[Elecraft] CW DECODING

I love CW and worked hard to get my extra class license back in the day. I'm proud of that accomplishment. I was qrt for many years but am back in and doing pretty good anywhere from 5 to 21wpm. CW is my primary mode but I do like to try all the digimodes. They are interesting and fun. I do like to dabble with all the tools to enhance the experience and improve my code skills. That includes, skimmer, multipsk, etc. I don't think there is anything wrong with using the tools. I think about it along the lines of how we have moved from tubes and discrete components to IC's and software defined radios, like used in the great Elecraft products. For our hobby to thrive and grow-amateur radio- and specifically CW, we need all comers. That includes folks who are using decoders to help them get in.

That would be like someone telling you they have less respect for you
because they understand how the DSP in your rig works better than you
do, or that they have less respect for you because they know more about
propagation than you do, or that they have less respect for you because
they understand antenna and transmission theory better than you do ...
all of which is probably true.

I'm a 98% CW operator as well, but this CW bigotry is really old and stupid.
