Anybody looking for a decent, lightweight, rugged, waterproof carrying case for your KX3, here's what I did with mine. Found the case at a surplus electronics mailorder place out of Florida called Marlin P. Jones and Associates company and they have two sizes of these boxes available. The little one is really too small for the KX3 as I found out (I ordered one first) but it works great for things like the XG3, meters, small antanna analyzers, etc. The larger one will hold the KX3 with the KXPD3 paddles attached and has sufficient extra room for the microphone, power cord, RF connectors/adapters and even enough room to carry 33 feet of wire wound up on wood or PVC. I used #18 teflon insulated wire, but some of the smaller diameter superflex would work better, I just don't have any on hand right now.

(Disclaimer, I don't have any financial interest in MPJA, just a satisfied customer.)

The boxes can be found here - http://www.mpja.com/Misc-Boxes-Cabinets/products/103/ and are the top two on the page in the URL.

Here's a pix of what it looks like in the case which has that "pluckable" foam so it's pretty easy to customize for rectangular shaped items like the KX3.
