Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3 P3 on Xmit
No, you can not monitor your xmit signal with the P3, at this time. There is
an unused cutout on the rear panel of the P3 labeled "sensor". many of us
hope this will be for an optional internal board and external sensor to
allow the P3 to operate as a station monitor on TX.
Some people have noted that if you disconnect the RS232 cable between the P3
and the K3, you can see a "signal" on the P3 during TX. This is due to IF
leakage into the P3, and is not a reliable indicator of your actual transmit
signal. You can see the effect of TX equalization settings on a transmitted
signal's bandwidth, but you are not looking at an accurate representation of
the actual RF output of the radio.
Sorry for the long-winded reply, but that's the current state of affairs (as
I understand it).
