With the flexibility of the K3 regarding mic levels, bias, front or rear panel connections and TX equalization, just about ANY microphone can be made to sound quite nice. (They can also me made to sound horrible, through improper adjustment). I get many unsolicited "nice audio" reports using my older Icom SM-8 desk microphone. GL, Bruce, N1RX
