I you note most computers are black color as are most 
stereo-audio-home theater and evn TV cabinets.  I think it is the 
wish for components to recede into home decor rather than stand 
out.  I'm guessing the ham mfr's have just followed suit.

There are some that have a different color and that seems to a 
signature color for the company.
