[Elecraft] K3 psk31 transmit problems

Hello all.
 I'm brand new to the digital modes. I downloaded Digipan to my pc. I have a
1/8" stereo patch cord from the line in on my pc to the line out on the K3.
It recieve's good,all kind of qso to read.
I have a 1/8 mono patch cord from the line in on the K3 to a speaker out put
on the pc-I don't see a line out anywhere. The mike select is on line in.
The PC won't key the K3 in data a or pskd. What do I not have hooked up or
don't have adjusted. Line out is 010.  Don't be to hard on me. Thanks.
