Fred,
After looking at the back cover of QST, I don't see many, if any buttons or
controls, that are not already included on the K3 either as physical front
panel controls, or menu selections. Other than the 200W output, I'll just
keep my K3, and add the KPA500. Way too many buttons on the TS-990S. And I
did replace my TS-870 with the K3(K)/100 just over 18 months ago.
I chuckled on the INT QKK. Here it's INT QKK = 46, QKK = 46. (K3K/100,
P3K(minus the VGA board). I really do RTFM!
I also sense, with you using the "INT", that you may have once been a radio
op, say 293x1 or 292x1, USAFSS or AACS.
Just made me curious.
In 67/68 we used to make our PX HiFi runs to the Naval Comm Stn PX on Guam,
or Yokota AB, from Wake Island. (Ex KW6GB).
Have fun and maybe see you in the CAQSOP, or CW Sweepstakes. Have not worked
you since CWSS 2005.

In the late 60's, the Exchange at Clark AB in the Philippines carried quite
a bit of Japanese stereo gear. We called it "Tokyo By Night,"
because the front panels resembled the Ginza. That sort of faded.
Possibly it's being reincarnated in ham gear.
INT QKK: "How many knobs[or controls] does your radio have?"
QKK 50: "My radio has 50 knobs [or controls]."
INT QKU: "How many of those do you know how to use?"
QKU 4: "I know how to use 4 of them."
