[Elecraft] Turn on turn off transients

What " tooth rattling turn on and turn off thump from the K3"?

Never heard that myself.  I use the K3 power button to turn off and on.
 Some folks I know turn off the power supply. Maybe that's different?
 Exactly how do you turn rig on and off?
