[Elecraft] Elecraft KX3 Programing Cables

2 questions?
1 Is the KXSER the same as the programing cables furnished with the W2 and  
XG3 ?
 I've got three of these cable and don't need more.
2 Does the KXUSB cable need specific drivers for the OS? I'm running XPE.  
What chip is used for the USB to RS232 ?
