[Elecraft] Possible power supply option for the KX3

Phil,

If of any help to you, I did use a Toshiba Laptop power supply to run my
K2's receiver continuously (i.e. 24/7) for almost 3 years in Scotland during
a propagation study. This supply's output is stated to be 15 V DC, and its
current rating is 6A.

Because this supply's voltage output is not regulated, thus can increase
when the current demand decreases, I did add a voltage regulator set for
13.5V output between the supply and the K2. I also placed the supply in a
fireproof box :-)

RF noise from this supply was not evident on the K2. However the antennas
used during this project were a good 200ft distant from the house, and all
cables to the antenna "farm" ran underground.

Geoff
