Good Evening,
Another cool rainy week has passed. No sun today but it was warm
and humid. High humidity is rare here no matter what you may think of
the Pacific Northwest. It can be in the rainy season when it rarely
stops pouring and the humidity is only in the 40% range. But today it
peaked at 70% with a temperature of 66 degrees. Warm and humid should
presage a storm but I hear nothing coming.
Propagation, on the other hand, was great all week. A few times I
could have run QRP without a problem. However, reading the news on
Space Weather, we just got hit by a double CME. Needless to say the
ionosphere is unsettled :) I expect more noise on 40 meters. 40 is
already full of summer storm QRN so listening for you is going to get
painful at times since my gain is set rather high. Walking outside
after the second net helps. Simply listening to the wind is soothing.
Twenty meters will most likely have a great deal of QSB, both fast and
slow. If I cannot hear you one moment please try again and propagation
could be better.
Please join us tomorrow afternoon and evening.
