[Elecraft] K3 transmit audio cuts out

Kieth,
Actually APP connectors do not "loosen up over time". They provide
positive contact over many, many, many connections/disconnections. If
the plating on the connector blades is still intact, that is not your
problem.
However, many seem to have trouble assembling APP connectors correctly.
I am currently sensitized to this problem because I have repaired 2
KPA100s in the past week which had this exact problem - the blades of
the connectors were not securely latched over the spring fingers of the
housing.
If your APP connector is loose and the cable "falls out", you can be
certain that it is not assembled correctly. The blades of the contacts
must latch over the ends of the spring fingers in the housings.
See page 37, figure 29 in the XV transverter Assembly manual -

I don't always get a solid click when inserting into the back of the K3 or into the power supply line. I like the convenience of those type of connectors but they do seem to loosen up over time.
