[Elecraft] K3 - sound in problem

Thanks for the inputs....

Data-A works fine  - but I like the convenience of USB ...
tried setting line-in level appropriately  - and it worked fine  - for 1.5
hours (WSPR)
THEN - back to no signal (I had it set with line level of 30 and CMP of
7)...
when it 'failed'  it would only work if I cranked up the CMP to 30 or so....

Question  - 'why' has it worked fine for 'years' and now doesn't ?

I can obviously use DATA-A  - but I personally preferred not have to switch
modes.
