If you are using an Edgeport USB to 4 serial ports and WIN 7 64 bit OS,
then you need to download the correct drivers. No easy task. If this is
the case, let me know and I will email you the correct driver. IF you are
using some other device, then look for the correct driver. First uninstall
the other software. You may also need to remove the device and then be sure
to go into the system file and remove the improperly installed drivers
first, BEFORE, installing the correct ones. Let me know if you need more
help. The actual device name you are using would be helpful, perhaps you
had it in an earlier email. Define your OS specifically as well.

Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3 lost comm with K3Util

Finally found K3_EZ and downloaded and installed it. NO luck connecting to
the K3.

No problem finding my way into device manager. The com ports 10,11,17 and
18 are there under the ports listing. These are on a 4 port USB adapter
(FTDI) I got from a recomm. on the list here. So Comm ports looks good.

Under USB Controllers I find:
5 Intel listed. Four are universal host controllers, one is enhanced host
controller. All are Intel 82801G (1CH7family) with numbers 27C8, 27C9,
27CA, 27CB and 27CC
3 USB Composite (confirmed one is my wireless keyboard by unplugging it)
5 USB Root Hubs (no idea what these may be) My USB A,B,C and D are listed
last. These are comm ports 10,11,17 and 18.

Of these 17 USB controllers listed above I only have the Keyboard and 4 port
hub plugged in. Not sure what the rest may be.

Not sure if any of this info is pertinent but hope it may be some clue.
