[Elecraft] K3 lost comm with K3Util

Thanks Bill,

 

                The laptop is plugged in and I have tried one prolific and
two FTDE adapters.  All communicate fine with the  K3 on my logging program
and not with K3util.

 

                Not likely to get a serial port computer.

Are you trying with the compuyter power supply plugged in?  If not, try 
it. 
Your computer's USB port may be marginal on battery power. 

Also, try a USB-serial adapter with FTDI chipset.  These seem to be the 
most 
easily used.  Also try to find a computer with a serial port to try.   
maybe another 
laptop.  Don't give up!
