It's always a good idea to handle boards by their edges insofar as possbile,
even while wearing static protection, just to avoid unnecessary mechanical
stress on components. 

Sounds like a good idea to add that to the manuals as a general instruction.

I figured it was standard to protect the LCD screen.  Certainly avoided a
bunch of finger prints that way.
