[Elecraft] [P3] Display freeze during CW keying

I wonder why ELECRAFT has choosen a different design approach to mute the K3
IF signal to the P3:

K3 internal keying (by paddel jack or by M1-M8): 
IF signal is fully muted (P3 display freezed) 
--> allows no monitoring of spectrum and transmitted signal while keying
--> P3 diplay does not support QSK

K3 external keying (by key jack): 
IF signal is muted only during dots&dashes 
--> allows monitoring of spectrum and transmitted signal while keying
--> P3 diplay does support QSK (which I do appreciate).
