What is "hands off" about it.  You still have to operate the same 
controls ... you just do it with a different interface.

And could you explain more how that interface affects the "value" of ham 
radio?  I don't see it at all.

By the way, I find it extremely condescending of you to say that someone 
in an antenna restricted environment should just suck it up and live 
with what they have.  That doesn't even sound like it complies with the 
spirit of ham radio to me.
