First whack at at it:
Assumptions: signal: 1.860 MHz; local osc: 1.860 + 8.215 = 10.075 MHz
In 6 weeks, there are about 36.56016E12 local oscillator cycles, for the
top-band frequency given.
Each cycle takes the reciprocal of 36.56016E12 in time.
Think of the local osc signal as a Slinky on its side with 36.56016E12 turns
spread exactly evenly over 6 weeks.
I'm thinking that expecting the first and all subsequent cycles not to
wander a bit in time-position over a 6-week term is not justifiable.
Does that make sense?
